Signal Transduction

Signal transduction involves the transmission and amplification of signals from membrane, cytoplasmic, or nuclear receptors to the nucleus. Signaling molecules include various hormones, growth factors, cytokines, chemokines, neurotransmitters, extracellular matrix components, receptors, protein kinases, protein phosphatases and DNA-binding proteins.
